Saint Michael the Archangel Church is incorporated in the State of Oregon as a Religious Corporation. Certain major administrative acts(e.g. the sale of property, construction or demolition contracts, etc.) must be voted on by the Directors. On rare occasions when a vote of the board is needed, it is taken only after the Pastoral Council and the Administrative Council have given their advice. The Pastor is the President of the Board of Directors and is authorized to act on behalf of the corporation.
The civil incorporation of the parish corresponds to its status as a separate "juridical person" in Canon Law. (Canon 515 §3).
