The St. Michael Bliven Library has many good resources for nourishing your faith life, from biographies of saints to theological works, spirituality to Scripture studies. 


For accessing the online catalog, you will need to have a username and password. Email: librarian@stmichaelportland.org and she will add you as a “patron” with a link to the online catalog and further information on how to check a book out. 

The Bliven Library’s physical location is just below the rectory, next door to the Parish Office. See the Parish Office Manager for access.

Fridays, 9:30–11:30 a.m. Librarian is available.

Feel free to browse at other times. The room use schedule is posted in the Library window.

Library Access and Checkout Instructions

Access

  1. Email: librarian@stmichaelportland.org for access to the library. The librarian will need to add you as a “patron”.

To Checkout an Item 

  1. Go to https://www.libib.com/u/stmichaelblivenslib

  2. Click “Need Password?” if you need to get/reset your password.

  3. Login to your account.

  4. Choose the book you want to check out by clicking in the book image.

  5. Click the “Checkout” button located within the item's details. If more than one copy of a book is available make sure the barcode from the popup list matches the one on the book. Once you’ve added all your items click “Complete.” 

*Books are shelved according to the DDC (Dewey Decimal Number).*
