We believe in the power and need of intercession.

For this reason, we want to create a network of intercessors who pray for the fruits of the missionary work and the monthly intentions of the community.

 

Our Patrons:

  • St Therese of Lisieux – Patron of Missions

  • St Joseph – Patron of the SSJ

  • St Michael the Archangel – Patron of our parish

Commitment Of Prayer Warriors:

  • Daily prayer of the Morning Prayer of the Apostleship of prayer:

    O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer Thee my prayers, works, and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of Thy sacred Heart, in union with the holy sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, in reparation for my sins, for the intentions of “St. Michael Community”, and in particular for the intention recommended this month by the Holy Father.

  • Weekly (or daily) offering of the fifth decade of the rosary for the conversion of St Michael and for Archbishop Sample.

  •  Collaboration in specific prayer campaigns (prayer chain for retreat, Alpha course, etc.)

  • Offering of your sufferings for the fruits of our apostolate:

    “Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ on behalf of his body, which is the church.” Col 1:24

  • Prayer Warriors are are also encouraged to attend the monthly Holy Hour on first Fridays at 7 pm.

  • The list of personal prayer requested through the email prayer@stmichaelportland.org

  • People receiving the sacraments at St. Michael’s

  • Intentions requested for St Michael, Archdiocese of Portland, and intentions of the universal Church

*Each year, we will celebrate the feast of St. Therese of Liseux in a special way (October 1st)
