Complementarity: Man and Woman in God’s Design
With Sr. Teresa Harrell
TUESDAYS, February 6, 13, 20 and 27 at 6:30 p.m.
Location: We will meet via Zoom
Cost: $15
We live in a time and culture when men are told their masculinity is toxic and women are told their femininity needs to be chemically controlled. Perhaps at no time since the Fall, when humans first lost sight of the true nature of our complementarity, have people been so confused about who we are created to be, as men and women. As Christians, we can recover God’s design and show to the world the power and beauty of living as masculine men and feminine women. Drawing on the history of philosophy, the writings of saints, and especially the magisterial teaching and subsequent theological reflection of the past century, this course will show God’s design for men and women in a complementarity relationship, how that was distorted by the Fall, how we as Christians can recover our true identity as men and women, male and female, and then propose ways forward, especially for leadership in the Church.
Taught by Sister Teresa Harrell, this course will be on Tuesdays during February, at 6:30 p.m. on Zoom.
